WEFEX
WEFEX is a web front-end for XML web services. It allows users to interact with multiple web services from a standard web interface like an HTML web page. With WEFEX, you can easily build web interfaces to access multiple and heterogeneous web services.
Our goal in creating WEFEX was to provide maximum extensibility and configuration possibilities out of the box meaning there is no requirement to perform any additional coding.
Motivation
The standards that make service oriented architectures possible are conceived and defined primarily with the objective to facilitate the communication between services (i.e. computer programs). This machine-to-machine communication is what enables an interoperable system and therefore is of vital importance for these standards and the organizations that creates them (i.e W3C, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), OASIS, ISO among others).
The objective of every geo-spatial infrastructure is to finally be able to serve human beings, and it is precisely here where further effort is needed in facilitating this person-machine interaction and to allow users to use, communicate and interact with web services in an easy, intuitive and efficient manner.
